Thomas Elde Dyar is recognized for his years of dedication to the development of leadership and citizenship in young people through the sport of wrestling

* Twenty-Five years of Freestyle and Greco Officiating

* Directed the Northwest Wrestlingb Coaches Clinic for 25 years

* Four-time District Coach of the Year

Coach Dyar coached wrestling for over 25 years. During his coaching days he had 42 District Champions, 20 state place winners, 2 state runners-up and 4 state champions. He was named District Coach of the Year four times. He had 9 of his wrestlers participate at NCAA or NAIA colleges or universities, of which one was Academic All-American, and one NCAA 3rd place finish. Six of his wrestlers participated at junior college or community college level.

Tom officiated freestyle and Greco wrestling for 25 years. He was named Portland Wrestling Officials Association "Coach of the Year"band twice elected P.I.L. Coaches Association President.

In 1977 he was selected coach for the Oregon All Star Wrestling Classic and the same year was coach of a summer tour to Japan. In 1991 he was Oregon coach at International Junior Wrestling Festival in Hawaii.

Tom served on the state tournament committee for 6 years and on the Mt. Hood District Tournament Committee for 10 years. He directed the Northwest Wrestling Coaches Clinic for 25 years.

For his dedication and lasting influence on wrestling, Tom Dyar is presented the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's "Lifetime Service to Wrestling" award for the class of 2003.
