Charlie Anthony

Charlie Anthony is recognized for his years of dedication to the development of leadership and citizenship in young people through the sport of wrestling

* Coached for 35 years in Oregon and Washington

* Two Oregon Classic titles

* Nine individual OSAA State champions

* 16 top-ten State finishes

After his graduation from Eastern Oregon University where he was a four-year letterman, Charlie coached wrestling at Ridgefield HS (WA) from 1976 to 1984, then moved to Ontario HS, where he coached until 2011. During his 35-years as a head coach, his teams won ten District titles, one State title and 350 dual meets. His teams also won two Oregon Classic titles and six runner-up trophies. His wrestlers won 76 individual district titles, nine individual OSA State titles, and 117 State medals.

Charlie was selected to coach the Oregon Cadet National Team twice and was named Coach-of-the-Year at District, State and NW Regional levels a total of five times. Charlie also coached football (35 years), track and baseball.
