Timothy C. Miller, M.D.

Timothy C. Miller, MD is the editor and creator of the Internet website "WV-Mat -- The West Virginia Wrestling Page." The website has been online since 1996, and has enjoyed a steady growth in popularity and content since its inception. The website attracts 30,000 to 40,000 unique visitors per month during wrestling season, with over 100,000 visits per month. Dr. Miller is a native of Calhoun County West Virginia and a 1972 graduate of Spencer High School. He obtained his undergraduate degree at West Virginia University (Phi Beta Kappa), and Medical Degree from the West Virginia School of Medicine in 1979. He finished his training in General Surgery in 1984, and has been in private practice in Medicine and Surgery at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood West Virginia since 1984. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Miller has been the recipient of the West Virginia Wrestling Coaches Association Wrestling Sportswriter of the Year Award in 1997 and 2004, and received a Special Award at the 2000 WVSSAC State Wrestling Tournament. He has been a Wrestling USA Magazine State-of-the-Year Award Winner in 1997 and 2007. In 2010 he was honored by having his name attached to the West Virginia Wrestling Coaches Association Wrestling Sportswriter of the Year Award, now known as the Snyder - Miller Media Award, named for Miller and the late Jim Snyder, legendary sports editor for the Parkersburg News. Dr. Miller has been associated with wrestling as a youth coach, tournament director, and booster, for over 20 years. Dr. Miller resides in Kingwood West Virginia with his wife of 34 years, Mary Kay (Rossano) Miller. They have three sons, Nathan, Mark, and Daniel, all of whom wrestled from Youth through High School.
