Stephen Henry has deep roots in the Massachusetts wrestling community. North Andover, one of the premier wrestling programs in Massachusetts, has benefited greatly from Stephen's significant contributions as a wrestler, coach, and administrator. During the formative years of high school wrestling in Massachusetts, Stephen competed for legendary coach and hall-of-famer Howard "Tug" Crozier. Stephen capped a fine high school career as a four-time state medal winner. In his senior year, Stephen was team captain and an individual state champion.

After college, Stephen returned to his hometown, forming a booster club and a youth wrestling team to support the North Andover high school program. Before long, Stephen collaborated with other coaches, including fellow inductee Brian Urquhart, to form the Big East Wrestling League. As administrator of the Big East Wrestling League for thirty years, Stephen has spurred grass-roots wrestling throughout Massachusetts and New England. During this time, Stephen has organized countless youth wrestling practices, scrimmages, dual meets, and tournaments. His leadership was instrumental in growing youth wrestling in this area from a handful of small programs to a structured organization with more than seventy teams. Because of his founding vision and steadfast guidance, Stephen is widely viewed as the "father of youth wrestling" in Massachusetts.

Stephen's impact on Massachusetts wrestling is illustrated by his nomination as USA Wrestling Magazine Man-of-the-Year in 2003. Throughout the past five decades, Stephen's involvement in North Andover's program has never waned. In recognition of his contributions to his alma mater, Stephen was inducted into the North Andover Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996.

After influencing countless young men, Stephen still relishes the opportunity to be on the mats, where he coaches with many of his former wrestlers and imparts life lessons on the next generation of wrestlers.

Stephen resides in North Andover next to his childhood home and enjoys visits from his sons Joel and Matt and his daughter Ellen and their families.
