Robert Rudolph

Bob Rudolph is synonymous with Dracut High School athletics. For 34 years Bob coached Dracut teams in the cauldron of Merrimack Valley wrestling where he was perennially known as one of the top coaches. Bob was named Boston Globe Wrestling Coach of the Year in 1991 and 2003. He also earned Division II State Coach of the Year honors in 2004 and numerous Division II North Sectional and Lowell Sun Coach of the Year honors during his illustrious career.

During college in the late 1960's at the University of New Hampshire, Bob was a three-sport athlete, playing baseball as a freshman and earning varsity letters in both football and wrestling. Bob's first teaching job following college was at Dracut High School, where he taught biology and physical education. Bob served as an Athletic Director and Department Head during his time at Dracut and also coached junior varsity baseball. He was also an assistant football coach.

Bob is most recognized for his quiet, steady and patient method of coaching. Although he is proud of his 354 career wins, 13 Individual State Champions and 3 New England Champions, he is prouder of the life lessons that he imparted to his teams. Bob instilled personal pride, dedication, integrity and discipline in his athletes, as reflected by the thousands of former students and athletes who have made successful careers in a variety of fields.

Bob retired from the Dracut Schools in 2006. Sadly, last year Bob lost his wife Denise after a valiant 14-year battle with cancer. He continues to reside in Dracut where he sees his daughter Stacey Kennedy and son Rob often.
