Hector Hernández

· Executive in charge of Vice-Presidential Protection Division for Vice President Pence

Hector Hernandez was a US Secret Service Special Agent for 30 years.  After graduating from both Federal Training Academies, he served in several capacities including:  the Dallas Field Office, the Prestigious Presidential Protective Division (PPD) protecting Presidents Clinton and Bush, the Secret Service Recruitment Program, the Resident Agent in Charge of the US Secret Service in Tulsa, the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (GS-15) for President Obama, the Assistant Special Agent and Deputy Special Agent in Charge of the James J. Rowley Training Center (RTC), the Department of Homeland Security - Senior Executive Service (SES) Candidate Development Program, the Senior Executive Service ranks, the Deputy Special Agent in Charge (SES) on the Vice-Presidential Protective Division (VPD), the Special Agent in Charge (SES) on the Vice-Presidential Protective Division becoming 1st Hispanic in US Secret Service history to hold this distinguished position and the Deputy Assistant Director in the Office of Training for the entire US Secret Service workforce.  After retiring in October 2021, he continues working as a Senior Security Advisor for a private global security company.  He is also serving as Director of Security for Lighthouse Church. He graduated from the Severn Leadership Fellow in June 2025.  Born and raised in El Paso, TX, he is the youngest of five siblings.  He graduated from Eastwood High School in 1983 receiving a full wrestling scholarship to New Mexico Highlands University and earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1987 and a Master of Arts degree in Sociology in 1989 while becoming the university’s first National Wrestling Champion. He competed in Russia on the US National Wrestling Team.  He also has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Hector has been married to Jodi for 32 years with 2 children, Sarah Isela (28) and Samuel Andreas (26).
