The Upstate New York Chapter of the NWHOF would like to present the 2023 honorees for this year’s ceremony on September 24, 2023 at the Double Tree Hotel in Syracuse, NY. The following will be given the Lifetime Service Award and be enshrined in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame at the State Chapters section of the Museum in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Robert Coppola – Central Square High School

Gary Edwards – Peru High School

Kevin Gallagher – Minisink Valley High School 

Dave Hickson – wrestling official

John Leone – Penfield High School

Tom Stanbro – Greene Central High School

Jack Romagnoli – Outstanding American Award 

Additionally, James Johnson of the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle newspaper will be awarded the Stanbro Media Award for his exceptional work in promoting and advocating for wrestling in Section V and state. 

The Chapter takes great pride in recognizing these remarkable individuals and all that they have contributed to the sport of wrestling. More details of each of these gentlemen will appear in future newsletters.
