Bey Misses Bronze Match, Black, Sancho Still In Repechage Mix
ZAGREB, Croatia – The Friday morning session at the 2025 World Championships saw Kamal Bey go 1-1 in the 77 kg repechage and Michial Foy win his 97 kg opener at Arena Zagreb to give Team USA a pair of solid Greco-Roman victories.
Bey’s dream of wrestling for a bronze medal came one offensive leg foul call from coming to fruition.
Blades Dominates Bronze Medal Match, Bey to Repechage
ZAGREB, Croatia – After experiencing her first loss since the Olympic final over one year ago, 22-year-old Kennedy Blades showed the grit of a champion and came back to win a bronze medal at the 2025 Senior World Championships.

ZAGREB, Croatia – A couple young stars carried the flag for Team USA on Thursday morning at the 2025 Senior World Championships—2024 Olympic bronze medalist Kennedy Blades won in repechage and advanced to the bronze medal round in women’s freestyle, while 2024 U17 World champion Jayden Raney got Greco-Roman off to a hot start by making the quarterfinals.
Maroulis Wins Fourth World Title, Welker Claims Back-to-Back Bronze
ZAGREB, Croatia – Down by a point in the second period of the 57 kg final to North Korea’s Il Sim Son, Helen Maroulis powered through an inside trip to score the match-winning takedown with six seconds left on the clock to win her fourth World title.
Kylie Welker, who bullied her way to the 76 kg bronze medal with a decisive 6-2 win over five-time age-group World medalist and reigning European champion Anastasiya Alpyeyeva of Ukraine.
Kilty, Welker Battle Back to Wrestle for Bronze
ZAGREB, Croatia – The U.S. women picked up a couple signature wins during the Wednesday morning session at the 2025 World Championships, with the duo of Macey Kilty and Kylie Welker winning repechage, and three athletes qualifying for the quarterfinal round.
Felicity Taylor at 53 kg, Adaugo Nwachukwu at 62 kg, Kennedy Blades at 68 kg and Alexandria Glaude at 72 kg also wrestled on Wednesday. Nwachukwu, Blades and Glaude each made the quarterfinals before falling, staying in the mix for repechage. Taylor dropped her opener and was eliminated from the tournament.
