USA Wrestling
United World Wrestling released its Greco-Roman seeds for the 2026 Senior World Championships based on the preliminary entry list.
Three U.S. athletes are seeded in the top eight of their brackets—2024 Olympic Trials champion and three-time World Team member Dalton Roberts is the No. 4 seed at 60 kg, five-time World Team member Cohlton Schultz , who was the Colorado and National winner of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award in 2019, is the No. 5 seed at 130 kg, and three-time World Team member Benji Peak is the No. 7 seed at 72 kg.
The remaining seven U.S. entrants—Max Nowry (55 kg), Xavier Johnson (63 kg), Otto Black (67 kg), Joel Adams (77 kg), Kamal Bey (82 kg), Beka Melelashvili (87 kg) and Timothy Young (97 kg)—will enter the Greco-Roman tournament unseeded and drawn into brackets at random.
Seeds are determined based upon the aggregation of ranking points for the year, which are earned by placements at the previous year’s World Championships, plus continental championships and ranking series events.
A complete list of entries for the Senior World Championships is available at uww.org. Entries and seeds are subject to change prior to the official draw.
The Senior World Championships will be held October 24 through November 1 at Barys Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan. Greco-Roman leads off the week of wrestling.
The event will stream live on FloWrestling.com to the U.S. market. United World Wrestling will provide brackets and updated results on UWW Arena.
