The 2025 National Wrestling Hall of Fame Honors Weekend has come and gone. Events took place on the campus of Oklahoma State University and in the Hall of Fame Museum.

Director Gary Townsend (2015) and Jane Townsend (2015) took care of business while representing Florida at the Hall of Fame State Chapter Conference. They listened as the Hall of Fame detailed its exciting Power Beyond endowment program, which will provide a strong financial future for the Hall and its museums. The Florida Chapter has committed to an annual contribution.

Gary and Jane took care of fun by following the lead of Bob Thomas (2017). The welcome party was hosted by friends of wrestling, Jay and Cathy Albright. Their historic stone barn was our venue for talking to heroes, hall of famers, future hall of famers and champions. We met former OSU mascot, Pistol Pete and heard his very interesting story. Attendees were treated to Iron Monk Brewery’s The Low Single Leg, an American light lager inspired by John Smith.

Following Friday's Presentation of Plaques, Coach Thomas invited the Townsends to his favorite watering hole, The Garage. The best onion rings in all of the Oklahoma territory were delivered by the best servers, Sophia, Cass and Elise.
