David Sanville
David K. Sanville is recognized for his years of dedication to the development of leadership and citizenship in young people through the sport of wrestling.
- 1969-2001 dual meet record 33–80 8–5.
- District II NAIA coach of the year in 1975.
- Coached 156 high school state qualifiers.
After graduating from Boise junior college in Portland State University, Dave coach wrestling for 32 years before retiring in 2001. During his coaching career he coached at Madison high school, Warner Pacific College, Bend high school and since 1984 at West Linn high school. His teams finished in the top 10 at the state tournament 13 times.
Coach Sanville is a seven time Three Rivers League coach of the year and in 2001 was named coach of the year by the Portland Wrestling Officials Association. He was honored by West Linn high school as outstanding educator of the year.
For his dedication and lasting influence on wrestling, David Sanville is presented the National Wrestling Hall of Fame’s “Lifetime Service to Wrestling“ award for the class of 2002.
