In 1978 Greg became head wrestling coach at Lake Wales High School. The school had only won 4 matches in the previous 3 years and his 1st year they won 6 matches. In his 2nd year his team won the District Title and had an undefeated state champion in Tony Stewart. After the 1980 season Greg became the head coach at Winter Haven High School until 1983 when he started his career as an official. Greg has been an official in the Lake Region Wrestling Officials Association and has served as President the past 11 years. In 1995 he received the Superior Officials Award and has worked the state wrestling tournament 8 times since 1990. For his dedication and lasting influence on wrestling, Robert Gregory Bondurant is presented the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's "Lifetime Service to Wresting" award for the class of 2002.
