Jay Arneson
Jay Arneson spent 29 years as a head coach and earned a record of 267-110-2. He started his coaching career at Owasso High School in 1973. Five years later, in 1978, his team was crowned State Champions and Arneson was named Coach of the Year. In 1979, he moved to Yukon where he remained until his retirement last year. He spent his remaining last 4 years coaching the Freshmen squad. To his credit Coach Arneson has had 16 State Champions, 4 High School All Americans, 2 NCAA Division ll Champions and an NCAA Division l All American. Arneson has been named District Coach of the Year 8 times. He was the 1980 West All State Team Coach and the 5A Coach of the Year in 1993, when his team won the State Runner-up honor. While attending Oklahoma State University, he was a member of the 1971 National Champion Wrestling team. Arneson was a 3 time All American, 2 time Big Eight Champion and a 2 time member of the East West Classic.
