Terril Keith Williams, born May 12, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, has dedicated his life to wrestling, evolving from a pioneering athlete to a transformative mentor and coach. His induction into the Missouri Chapter as a Lifetime Service Member, honors over four decades of unwavering commitment to the sport and youth development. Williams’s wrestling journey began at Webster Groves High School, where he competed for four years, graduating in 1973. A two-time state placer, he secured second place at the MSHSAA State Championships in 1973, showcasing early talent that set the foundation for his storied career.

At Forest Park Community College, Williams earned NJCAA All-American honors before transferring to the University of Missouri. Wrestling at 150 pounds from 1976-77, he became the first modern-era All-American for the Tigers, finishing fourth at the 1977 NCAA Division I Championships in Norman, Oklahoma—using two pins on his way to his podium spot. He placed third in the Big 8 Conference in both 1976 and 1977 and was named Missouri's Most Outstanding Wrestler in 1977.

Graduating in 1977, Williams's achievements marked a milestone for Mizzou wrestling. After competing, Williams served as assistant coach at Forest Park from 1981 to 1996 under Hall of Famer Jack Crider, guiding 18 All-Americans and one national champion. From 1983 to 2005, he directed the St. Louis City Chapter of the National Youth Sports Program at Forest Park, introducing wrestling to inner-city youths and fostering leadership and discipline. His work extended to Job Corps, where he mentored young people, and he excelled as a multiple-time national karate champion and black belt instructor, influencing hundreds with his calm, humble demeanor. Letters from mentees like Brian Jackson—a two-time national finalist and champion under Williams—and Shepard Pittman Sr. highlight his profound impact as a role model, emphasizing patience and integrity.
