Leonard DeAugustino
Gus DeAugustino was undefeated as a wrestler in college duals and was a member of the 1952 Olympic Team. In 1953 he became the first Lock Haven wrestler to win an NCAA Championship title. His coaching achievements are equally impressive, with a high school coaching career record of 380-104-2. His teams won 10 West Penn Team Championships, 22 Section Team Championships, 7 WPIAL Team Championships and 6 State Team Championships, crowning 48 WPIAL individual champions and 21 State individual Champions. Five of his teams enjoyed undefeated seasons. Coach DeAugustino's 1988 team was named the Number 1 High School Team in the nation by Amateur Wrestling News and he was named National High School Coach of the Year. He was also named the 1990 National Wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the Year. Coach DeAugustino has previously been named to the Western Pennsylvania Hall of Fame, the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the Lock Haven University Hall of Fame. From 1990 to the present date, Gus has been the head Wrestling Coach of Duquesne University, winning the 1994 and 1996 Eastern Regional Championship title. He is one of the Founders of the Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic and manages and instructs summer wrestling clinics across the country.
