Bill Ryder coached wrestling at Grants Pass High School for 14 years, where his teams won 116 dual meets against only 7 losses for an impressive 95 per cent winning record. He then took over the program at Glendale High School and lead his teams to undefeated dual competition and three consecutive State Championship runner-up finishes.
Three of his wrestlers went on to earn NCAA All-America status and one earned an NAIA title. He was instrumental in developing the Oregon Cultural Exchange program and authored the book, "Complete History & Handbook of the Oregon Wrestling Cultural Exchange."
