Tim Wright
Tim Wright was the first wrestler in NCAA history to win four consecutive national championships, capturing NCAA Division II titles in 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1987 for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
He helped the Cougars capture three consecutive NCAA DII national team titles from 1984 to 1986 and finish second in 1987.
Wright had a career record of 141-6-2 and also earned NCAA Division I All-American honors with a third-place finish in 1987.
He is a member of the SIUE Cougars Athletic Hall of Fame and the NCAA Division II Wrestling Hall of Fame.
His coach at SIUE was Larry Kristoff, a Distinguished Member inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2007 who received the Lifetime Service to Wrestling award from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Illinois Chapter in 2001.
