Allen Bauman
Prior to 1978, Al Bauman was the Head Wrestling Coach at Mineral Point for 15 years. His teams won 165 out of 179 dual matches. Besides having an impressive win-loss record, Bauman's teams have won 13 Conference Championships, 11 Regional Titles, 50 invitational Tournament Championships and have finished in the Top Ten Ratings eleven times --- three times as the #1 team. Highlighting these records was a 55 consecutive duel meet winning spree against some of the best competition in the State. . Bauman has had 8 individual State Champions, the most noted being Rick Lawinger, the first N.C.A.A. National Champion at the University of Wisconsin. In 1976 Bauman was selected Wisconsin Wrestling Coach of the Year by the Scholastic Wrestling News. He has also been President of the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association, President of the State U.S.W.F., and Chairman of the W.I.A.AA. Wrestling Rules Advisory. Prior to coaching at Mineral Point, Bauman was the captain of the first wrestling team at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.
