Russell Thurman

Russell Thurman is recognized for his years of dedication to the development of leadership and citizenship in young people through the sport of wrestling.

Russ Thurman started coaching in 1962 at Philomath. His teams had a record of 20-3 for his two years at Philomath high school. Coach Thurman then move to Crook County high school where he coached for 28 years. During his tenure at Crook County his teams won 17 District Championships, 2 state titles and finished second in the state twice. He was selected Coach of the Year three times.

Russell Thurman has given a lifetime of service to the youth of America through the sport of wrestling.
