Harry Steever
Harry Steever graduated from Taylor High School near Scranton in 1948. While attending high school, Harry excelled in several sports including football, basketball, baseball and track. He attended East Stroudsburg University, graduating with a degree in Health and Physical Education in 1954. He became the first Berks County wrestling coach at Governor Mifflin High School in Shillington. His teams compiled a 151-51 record under his direction. They won 10 Berks County Championships, sharing the title twice, and also won 84 consecutive league matches. Harry's elementary school wrestling program was the forerunner for other wrestling programs in Berks County.
