Russell Cozart

Russell Cozart started his coaching career in 1976 at Upland High School in California.

After two very successful years, he became coach of Chamberlin High School in Tampa, Florida, and coached Glen Goodman, a four-time Florida state champion.

In 1980 Brandon High School had a winning streak of 75 meets when Coach Cozart took over the program.

From 1980 until the present, Brandon High School has not lost a match and has the longest winning streak in the history of high school sports, at 335 wins.

During the past 20 years, Coach Cozart has won 10 Florida State Championships, 20 conference Titles, 20 District Titles and 19 Regional Titles.

Russ finds time in his high school schedule to coach the Brandon Wrestling Club, made up of wrestlers from 5 to 14 years of age.

He also finds time to wrestle in the Veterans Division of men over 35 years of age. He is a 4 time National Champion and a 5 time World Champion.
