Kenneth Rhodes

Kenny Rhodes is one of the most successful high school wrestlers the has graduated from Williamsport High School. He started wrestling at the Hagerstown YMCA when he was seven years old, completing his years of youth wrestling with Wildcat Wrestling Club in Williamsport. Kenny compiled a 103-5-1 record during his four years at Williamsport High School. He was a two time Maryland State Champion and placed third and second respectfully as a ninth and tenth grader. Kenny was technically very sound and he always established a relentless attack and rarely gave his opponents an opportunity to use their offense. After graduating from Williamsport in 1985, Kenny attended Temple University where he made the varsity squad as a freshman. One of his college highlights occurred when he went 3-0 at a quad meet at Temple. Although he suffered a career ending injury that day, he was able to win each bout with his family and friends in attendance. Kenny's enthusiasm for the sport was evident as he pursued coaching wrestling with the same intensity and dedication that he brought to the mat as a competitor. He returned to Williamsport where he assisted his high school coach, Al Witt, for several years. After spending two years as an assistant at Oakland Mills High School, he served as a volunteer at both the high school and youth program at Keyser,WV. Kenny was also a coach at the St James School for several years. In 2007, Kenny returned to Williamsport and has been involved in helping to coach and lead the Wildcat Wrestling Club for many years. Kenny has volunteered with the Maryland State Wrestling Association in numerous capacities. He has organized and managed youth and high school wrestling tournaments in Washington County for 20 years. His organizational skills and work ethic are evident in these events. Kenny's leadership and love for the sport has helped promote its growth in the community. An excellent role model for youngsters, Kenny is also a long time member of the Washington County Wrestling Officials Association. Kenny Rhodes has been employed for over 15 years by Citibank as a computer programmer. He lives in Hagerstown, Maryland and is the proud father of Meghan, Kirsten and Quinn.
