Rising to Rank of lieutenant , Commanded 12 Landing Crafts, NAVY CROSS· Heroic efforts on D-Day June 6, 1944-First to land on the Beach of Normandy, French Cross of War for Heroic efforts D-Day June 6,1944. Navy Silver Star Medal, 1964 U.S. Greco-Roman Wrestling Coach-Tokyo Japan, 1965-1985 U.S. Olympic Committees, 1960 Mat Official at the Olympic Games in Rome, 1966-1968 Served on 3 Olympic Greco-Roman Wrestling Committees and headed up the 1968 US Delegation in Mexico City. 1994 Chosen to Introduce President Clinton on the 50th Anniversary of D-Day Aboard U.S. Navy Cruiser USS George Washington, 1940-1942 Started Wrestling Program at East Detroit High School ( Now Eastpointe) and became State Championship Team 1940 and repeated in 1941 and 1942. The only Coach to have 3 State Championship Teams with 9 Individual Titles. Every man on the team in the early 1940's saw active duty in WWII and all returned home. 1940-1942 Football and Track Coach East Detroit High School 1946-1948, Coached Football and Track at Albion College, Coach at Flint High School 1950's, High School Wrestling Mat Official 1966-1968, US National AAU Wrestling Committee 1978, One of the founding fathers of Michigan High School Coaches Hall of Fame. Co-Founder of the Michigan Wrestling Club-1965, serving as Manager, Director and supporter until his death in 2005, developing this Club into a Nationally known Premier Team, which produced l'st Gold Medal Greco-Roman Champion Steven H. Fraser. 1995 Received Master of Wrestling Award, from Wrestling USA Magazine, 1976 Eastern Michigan Hall of Fame.
