Brian Bain

Coach / Official Coach Bain has served continuously as head or assistant coach at George Jenkins High School since the inclusion of wrestling in county athletics in 1972. In 1978 he was responsible for initiating middle school wrestling in Polk County and has served to bolster the caliber of High School competition in the area. In 1972 Coach Bain was responsible for forming the Tri-County Officials Association and has been an FHSAA Registered official for 28 consecutive years. Coach Bain in addition to his active support for the past 28 years as a coach and official found time in organizing, assisting and hosting 10 State Championships, despite undergoing regular dialysis treatment while waiting for a kidney transplant. It is hard to believe that a young, physically vibrant individual would be able to contribute on a daily basis the time and energy Coach Bain has over the past 28 years. When you talk about the cornerstone in the foundation of Florida High School Wrestling you would be talking about Brian Bain.
