Mark Cammisa

Mark has set the stage for wrestlers across Connecticut for more than 20 years, working behind the scenes to organize tournaments and opportunities for wrestlers to grow as athletes.

He joined USA Wrestling Connecticut as treasurer and eventually became the chairman of the organization. He organized training and travel for wrestlers in the spring looking to compete in Freestyle and Greco-Roman at the national championships in Fargo, North Dakota. For the past 10 years, he has organized the Nutmeg Series of Folkstyle Tournaments each fall for wrestlers of all ages.

Mark is also director of officials for USA Wrestling Connecticut. He trains, assigns and oversees more than 80 officials for the youth Folkstyle season. Each spring, he runs several clinics for officials. Over the years, Mark and his wife, Nancy, have volunteered numerous hours to help the sport of wrestling grow. Each year, they run several youth and high school tournaments.

For the past 11 years, Mark, Nancy and their daughter, Danielle, have setup and run the computer for the Mighty Mites and Bantams state tournament, usually in Stamford, and at Intermediate, Novice and Middle School state tournaments on the Sunday after the State Open at Hillhouse. Mark continues to spend his time, energy and resources on the growth of wrestling in Connecticut.
