Doug Muck

Doug Muck is recognized for his years ofvdedication to the development of leadership and citizenship in young people through the sport of wrestling.

* Coached high-school and college wrestling for over 20 years

* One OSAA State team title

Doug is a 1960 graduate of Madison High School and a 1964 graduate of the University of Oregon, where he was team captain and Pacific Coast runner-up. After spending one year as assistant at the University of Oregon, Doug coached at Myrtle Point HS for three years, where his teams compiled a 45-3 dual meet record, won two District team titles and twelve individual OSAA State titles. During his six years as head coach at Rex Putnam HS, Doug's teams won four District titles and one State title. His Rex Putnam wrestlers won 27 District and seven OSAA State individual titles. As head coach at Central Oregon Community College for seven years, his teams won the OCCAA Conference Championship five times. Doug was named OCCAA Coach-of-the-Year in 1978. Doug also served as Athletic Director at COCC and as Head Track & Strength Coach at Chemeketa CC. He also served as District Athletic Director for the Newberg School District from 1987 through 1994.
