Native of Jefferson, GA Graduate of Jefferson High School (1973) Graduate of the University of Georgia (1978) 45 years of service to the sport of wrestling 9 years as a head wrestling coach at various levels 1 year (1976-77) - head 8th grade coach - Jefferson HS 3 years (1979-82 - started program/head coach at Winder-Barrow HS 1 year (1982-83) - head coach at Monroe Area HS 4 years (1984-88) - head coach at Dawson County HS (state team champions-1987/first state championship at Dawson County HS in any sport / state runnerup-1988) State "A" Coach of the Year - 1987 and 1988 Coached 4 state champions and 22 state place winners 45 years (1973-present) as an active GHSA wrestling official (All-South WOA) - officiated numerous area, sectional and state tournaments Served as high school football coach (19 years), track and field coach (16 years), baseball, swimming and basketball coach during his teaching career Umpired girls fastpitch softball for 12 years Served as a Military Police officer (Captain) in the Georgia Army National Guard Retired from North Hall High School in 2004 after 26 years as a teacher Resides in Gainesville, GA with his wife, Melinda. Has three adult children- Laura, Alex and Natalie
