Four-time high school state champion, winning two 6A titles for Martin High School in Arlington, Texas, before moving to North Carolina and winning a pair of 2A titles for Carrboro High School.
Career record of 158-9 and was team captain and National Society for High School Scholars honoree.
Son of Sabrina and Kenny Monday, a Distinguished Member inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2001.
