Dennis Kasprowicz

Dennis was known as Denny Kass . His last name was Kasprowicz but people could not pronounce it or spell it correctly, so he made it simple by going by Denny Kass. Denny was a four sport star at Royal Oak Dondero High School. He really excelled in his wrestling and his love of this sport shined. Upon graduation Denny continued his career in wrestling by attending Oakland University in 1974-1975. He became a starter on their wrestling team in his freshman year. He had a very strong career in wrestling. He was a four year varsity letterwinner and wrestled internationally as well . He graduated in 1979 from Oakland University. His love for wrestling continued. He wrestled for the Michigan Wrestling Club in the Greco-Roman style of wrestling. This is where Denny really showed his talents as he became a two time All-American in Greco-Roman. Upon his retirement from amateur wrestling he became an active board member for the Michigan Wrestling Club. Denny also wrestled as a professional wrestler as part of the famous tag team The Fabulous Kangaroo's. He did this for about twenty-five years. Denny was a big supporter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for the State of Michigan. Not only did he support FCA, he helped run the FCA camp held at Albion College every summer in July. Denny was in charge of the wrestling as well as camp overall responsibilities for forty years. The ability to teach wasn't limited to wrestling for Kasprowicz, he enjoyed delivering speeches & talking to assemblies. He is also a member of the Dearborn Soccer Hall of Fame for his Ten years of service, as a coach and Member of the Board. Denny loved his day job at the Ford Motor Credit Company ( a division of Ford Motor Company ). He hosted an internal television show for Ford dealers, which ran more than 2,000 episodes through the FORDSTAR network and then the internet. He traveled to dealerships to share his knowledge as well. Denny was married to his wife, Karen, for 34 years. They raised two daughters, Miranda and Christi. He was active at Dearborn Evangelical Covenant Church for over thirty years. Denny passed away unexpectedly in August 2016, and will leave an enormous void on this earth. Dennis favorite quote : " You can be a great athlete & great if you can go out there on the mat & win, but if you can't put it together in the class room & put it together in your personal life ; what good does it do if you win the world yet you can't handle your own life. "
