Alan Clinton
After wrestling at Porterville College and then California State University-Fullerton, Alan began his coaching career at Orange High School in 1982-83. At El Modena HS from 1985-2006, his teams won 10 Century League Championships and CIF-SS Division Championships in 1994, 2002 and 2003, with a CIF-SS Dual Meet title in 1994. He was the league's Coach of the Year 10 times. He also served as Head Wrestling Coach at Santa Ana College 1999-2000. Clinton was hired as Athletic Director at Servite High School in 2006, and he started their wrestling program at that time. As Head Coach since then, he has added three Trinity League Championships, CIF-SS Division Championships in 2014 and 2015 and CIF-SS Dual Championships in 2015 and 2016. His teams have been runners-up in an additional 11 CIF competitions, and his dual match record is a combined 305 wins vs. 92 losses, an 87% winning percentage. He has been the Trinity League Wrestling Coach of the Year six times. His teams have included 115 individual League Champions, 136 CIF Placers, 24 CIF Champions, 8 CIF MVP's, 44 Masters Placers, 6 Masters Champions, 6 State Placers, 1 State Champion, 6 Senior National Qualifiers, 3 National High School Placers, 6 Junior College All-Americans, and 1 NCAA All-American Placer. Clinton was selected as CIF State Model Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2011, and he was designated Orange County Wrestling Coach of the Year seven times. Alan was chosen as Athletic Director of the Year for the CIF-Southern Section in 2008-09, and his team won the Champions for Character "Pursuing Victory with Honor" award for the Southern Section in 2004. He was also given an Honorary Service Award by the Orange County PTA in 1996. He has served on the State Wrestling Advisory Committee as the Southern Section representative, on the CIF-SS Advisory Board, the National Wrestling Advisory Board, California, USA Wrestling Orange County Section Board, and as an Amateur Wrestling Member and a National Wrestling Federation Member. Clinton has served on the State Athletic Administration Advisory Board since 2012, and he has also served as the Tournament Director of the CIF-SS Masters Meet and as a CIF-SS Division Tournament Director since 2012. He is a past president of the Orange County Athletic Directors Association and a current Advisor to that group. He served as president of the Orange County Wrestling Association from 1991-98 and continues to serve as an Advisor to that group.
