Ray Barron
Ray Barron is graduate of Aurora Hinkley High School (1968) and the University of Northern Colorado (1972), has been the head wrestling coach at Heritage since 1980. While at UNC, he was a two-year letter winner on the mats and a four-year starter for the Rugby team. He began his coaching career as the head coach at Fort Lupton High School (1972-1976) then moved to Worland High School in Wyoming (1976-1980). Prior to the 2011-2012 season he had compiled a 400-136-3 record which has included 26 top three region finishes and 10 top five state finishes. Among his many services and awards: Served as President of the Colorado Wrestling Coaches Association for eight years; was National High School Wrestling Coaches Chairman for eight; served as the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Director Emeritus of the Colorado High School Coaches Association; He is a member of the CHSCA Hall of Fame; has been named a Teacher/ Coach of the Year and has been named a League Coach of the Year several times. He also is an assistant varsity football coach. Looking back, he was responsible for starting the All-state wrestling matches in Wyoming. He is married to Jane Barron, has son Luke and daughter Jennifer (Paulson).
