Edward "Ned" McGinley

Ned McGinley graduated from Kingston in 1961 with a career dual record of 31-1-1. He was a two-time district champion, regional runner-up and team captain his senior year.

He graduated from Wilkes College in 1965 and was team captain his senior year. He was 21-3-1 in duals with an overall career record of 50-14. He earned two medals in the MAC, and qualified for NAIAs in three seasons, winning a bronze medal in 1963.

In 1968 Ned started the wrestling program at King's College and has been its ONLY head coach ever since. The 2015-16 season was his 47th year and still counting! Ned coached 20 MAC, five National Catholic Invitational Champions and 13 wrestlers to undefeated dual meet seasons. He has coached 45 Division III NCAA qualifiers, 18 All-Americans, a two-time national champion, a national champion, four runners-up and three three-time All-Americans.

He has produced 30 NCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans while posting 454 wins through 2016. His best season was 2002, when King's placed fourth in the NWCA Division III Dual Meet Championships, and posted a team record of 24-2. He was MAC Coach of the Year in 1988 and 2001, and in 1993, was the recipient of the NCAA's 25-Year Coaching Award.

He was inducted into the NCAA Division III Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 2002, into the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2008, and into the Luzerne County Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

Ned and his Wife Mary Ellen live in Wilkes-Barre, where they raised three children.
