Steve Heleniak

Steve Heleniak wrestled for Carmine Colace at Franklin High School where he finished his career with an overall record of 163-21, while finishing his senior year undefeated at 43-0. Steve's list of high school wrestling achievements is very impressive as he was a 2000 AAU National Champion - All American, a 2000 New England Champion, a 2X Massachusetts All State Champion, a 3X Division II State Champion, and a 3X Division II Central Sectional Champion. In addition to winning the 2000 Massachusetts Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award, he was a 2000 High School Wrestling USA Magazine All American and was named 2000 Massachusetts "Wrestler of the Year" awarded by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Not only did Steve have an impressive individual high school career, he was also a captain of the Franklin High School wrestling team that was crowned Division II State Champions (98-00). Steve went on to wrestle for 5 years on the University of Michigan's varsity wrestling team where he was a 2X Academic All Big Ten Conference selection, a 3X letter winner and was a Cleveland State Open Champion in 2003.
