Rob Wimberly

Rob Wimberly (Coach) - Rob Wimberly has been a fixture on the Florida wrestling scene dating back to his outstanding high school career at South Dade High School. From there Rob went on to earn Division II All-American honors at the University of Central Florida, before transferring to Division I Ohio University to finish out his collegiate career. After returning to Florida, Rob has coached at several schools, including South Dade, Killian, Sunset, Palmetto and St. Thomas Aquinas High Schools. During his tenure, he has coached over 35 Individual State Finalists, 22 Individual Champions, 4-2x NCAA All-Americans, and 1-1x State Champions. In addition, he has coached numerous Individual State Placewinners and High School All-Americans, including his two sons, both of whom were State Champions and competed collegiately at Michigan State University. Rob has also helped coached several of the Florida National Team age-group national teams from 1998-2007. He has also served as the South Area Director of the FAWA, and as an Official for the GMAC from 1985-2008. Rob is currently working with the Miami Fire Department, and is the Assistant Wrestling Coach at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He is married to wife, Susan, and has two son's Jon and Jeff.
