Dean Johnson

Dean Johnson Began his wrestling career at Central Bucks High School, Doylestown, Pennsylvania in 1964. After his high school graduation in 1967, Dean enrolled in Bucks County Community College, Newtown, Pennsylvania. He was a founding member of the wrestling team in 1968. In May of 1969, Dean received his Associate of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education. Dean transferred to Slippery Rock State College where he served the student body as a residence hall advisor and chairman of the 1970 homecoming parade. He was a member of the wrestling team as well. Dean graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education. Dean was a physical education teacher (1971-1979) and administrator (1979-2005) in the Carroll County Public Schools. He was an assistant wrestling coach at Westminster High School, 1974-1979. In addition, Dean served the Carroll county wrestling community as an announcer and clock operator at Westminster High School, (1971-1974, 1980-1998), Francis Scott Key High School (1999-2004) and North Carroll High School (2005-2009). He was the director of the Carroll County Wrestling Tournament from 1993-2010. Dean's involvement with the MPSSAA began in 1985 by serving as a tournament worker at the state wrestling championships. He took further roles as a region director for the individual (1990-2008) and dual meet Tournaments (1994-2009). Dean was the director of the MPSSAA Dual Meet Wrestling Championships from 1994-2009. In 1990, Dean received the MPSSAA Service to Wrestling Award. In 2010, Dean was inducted in the MPSSAA Wrestling Hall of Fame
