Frank and Angel Beck
The Beck Family is one of Michigan wrestling's best kept secrets. Frank Beck Sr. was a board member along with Ruel McPherson of the Michigan United Oaks Wrestling Club in the 1960's. Frank Sr. was a dual meet and tournament announcer for over ten years including the AAU Eastern Nationals and Regional AAU Tournaments. When his Auto Dealership moved to Hillsdale , he financially supported both the Hillsdale High School and College programs. Wife Angel, the matriarch of the family has been known as a proficient pairing official since the 1960's. She was placed in charge of the Hazel Park Wrestling Club Officials, was the Head Pairing Official for the AAU Eastern Nationals and earned an invitation to pair at the 1976 Olympic Games. In addition, the Beck Family Auto Dealership has provided summer employment to wrestlers, continues to use wrestling as a reference point in their media advertising campaigns and have donated vehicles on numerous occasions to transport Michigan wrestlers and equipment to Fargo, The NHSCA Nationals in Virginia Beach and numerous other competitions and destinations.
