Bruce Bittenbender

Bruce began his coaching career as an assistant at South Haven High School in 1969 and then moved on to Lakeshore Stevensville in 1970 where he presently remains as Head Coach. Compiling a dual meet record of 787- 191-2, Bruce currently ranks second in the nation in dual meet wins. His teams have produced 20 individual state champions, 78 state placers and have claimed 27 conference titles, 9 regional titles and finished in the top 10 in the state 19 times. He was named the National High School Coach of the Year in 2010 by the NHSCA and since 1995 has served on the Executive Board of the Michigan Wrestling Association, having been a member of that organization for over 39 years. Bruce was inducted into the MWA Hall of Fame in 2010 and remains an active member of the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
