A product of Lebanon high school in Southern Oregon University, Rick officiated wrestling for over 40 years. He has worked over 30 state tournaments as an official or state rules interpreter. He was selected the 2008-2009 Official of the Year (all sports) by the Oregon Coaches Association. The Oregon wrestling coaches named Rick Official of the Year for 1994 and 1997. He has officiated NAIA nationals and multiple NCAA D2 regionals, NJCAA regionals, Cliff Keene Las Vegas Tournaments and Cliff Keene National Duals. Rick has been commissioner of the Salem Wrestling Officials Association for over 10 years, head official of the Oregon wrestling classic nine years and Oregon state rule interpreter beginning in 2008.
