Mark Schmidt

Mark Schmidt - Lifetime Service to Wrestling Award: Schmidt, a graduate of Florence High School and Fort Lewis College, began his coaching career at Revere High School in 1978 and expanded his resume' to include state, national and world spotlights. He was at Burlington from 1979-1984, the head coach at Centaurus, 1984-1992 as well as the assistant at Centaurus, 1993-1999. While at Centaurus, he coached four state championship teams and three runner-ups, had 20 individual champions and 68 place winners. He was named the Colorado Coach of the Year in 1992, a season in which the Warriors were ranked No. 20 in the nation. He was the assistant coach at Broomfield (2006-2009) and the head coach the past two seasons. While at Broomfield the Eagles won two state 4A titles, he helped produce 10 state champs and 40 place winners and was the 4A Coach of the Year in 2010. A Regional Director of the National Wrestling Coaches Association and a board member for five years, has coached eight international teams, hosted teams from Germany, New Zealand, Japan and Turkey, has been the head coach for the National Duals three times, has been the Head Coach for the National Wrestling Coaches Association, and cited by the Colorado Hall of Fame in 2005.
