Kevin Brooks
Kevin Brooks, Grand Junction: Brooks is a graduate of Montrose High School and the University of New Mexico with a degree in accounting. He wrestled at Montrose under coach Jon Thompson relating he was taught life lessons by his coach he will never forget. He was a member of the 1975 state championship team at Montrose, but did not wrestle in college. However, his contributions to wrestling have been immense. He began the Tiger Paw Wrestling club in 2001 (5-years old through middle school), which now has more than 100 members annually. He was the main financial supporter of Mesa State wrestling when the school reinstated the program in 2005 and continues to be a major supporter of Mesa State athletics. He was awarded the Lloyd Gaskill Award by the Colorado High School Coaches Association in 2006 for his contributions to high school athletics and he currently speaks to high schools throughout Colorado on business and life performance issues. He is the current owner of Big O Tires and has eight franchise outlets on the Western Slope
