Allen Cutsforth

A graduate of Cornell College in Iowa, Allen Cutsforth taught and coached middle school and high school wrestling in Rocky Ford, Colorado, from 1965 to 2008 while also being involved in many community and state activities.

Over that span, the teams he worked with combined for a 307-59 record.

He was with the Meloneers as they won nine state championships while also finishing second three times, third six times, fourth twice and fifth once.

Thirty-seven wrestlers won individual state titles over that span, including four national champions within their disciplines, and 100 others were state place-winners.

Cuts was a founding member of the Rocky Ford Wrestling Foundation in 1966, has been a freestyle official on the state and national levels, and even served as a reporter for the Rocky Ford Daily Gazette from 1969 to present.

He was the Rocky Ford Educator of the Year in 1992 and received the Otero Jr. College Lifetime Achievements in Arts Award in 1998.

Prior to coming to Rocky Ford he was a member of the New Hampton, Iowa Jr. Chamber of Commerce.
