Tim Frey

Tim Frey, a native of Pennsylvania, honed his wrestling skills at State College High School where he was a 2-time District Champion. He continued his wrestling career at Millersville state college capping a very successful career by qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

Tim's passion for wrestling brought him back to his Alma Mata, State College High School, where he helped coach Rob Koll to the Pennsylvania Stat Championship Finals, Rob would go on to national acclaim and is presently the head wrestling coach at Cornel University.

Moving to Maryland in 1983 Coach Frey began his long time association with North Caroline High School. in his first 3 years at NCHS Time served as an assistant wrestling coach and in 1986 he was handed the reins as NCHS Head wrestling coach a position that he held until when he retired in 2023.

Coach Time Frey has been honored 4 times as the Maryland District 7 & 8 Coach of the Year in recognition of his coaching ability and the outstanding accomplishments of his NCHS wrestlers. Even more impressive is the personal recognition Tim has received from his peers, being selected 3 times for the District 7 & 8 Sportsmanship Award.

Coach Frey is being honored for his long time service to the sport of wrestling and for his commitment to, and positive influence on, hundreds of young men and Women who have benefitted from his skill, knowledge, and character as a role model.

His North Caroline High School wrestling teams have won over 450 Dual matches under his leadership. Coach Frey also served on the Maryland Public Schools Athletic Association Wrestling committee for over 20 years.
