Tim Donovan

Tom Donovan is a living example of what it means to defy the odds through discipline, hard work and determination.

One week after completing his high school wrestling career, Tim was involved in a tragic auto accident with five friends, including other wrestling teammates. The accident left Tim with a Cervical 3-4 spinal cord injury and paralyzed below the neck. Despite the original prognosis of complete paralysis from the neck down and breathing only with the aid of a respirator, Tim battled back to breathe on his own and regain significant physical movement in his arms and legs. He now has the ability to stand and walk on a treadmill for up to a half-hour at a time - an incredible ability based on his level of injury!

Since the time of his accident, Tim has also focused on pursuing his life goals. He attended Bentley University, where he received a degree in Accounting. Tim began his working career at Ernst & Young and obtained his CPA. From there he went on to work in the private sector as an SEC reporting accountant, before taking his current position as a certified Deputy Treasurer/Collector for the City of Woburn.

Giving back to the community has been an important priority in his life. Tim actively involves himself in community initiatives, including currently serving as Chairperson of the Woburn Handicapped and Disabled Citizens Commission. He also helped coach Woburn Youth Wrestling for over ten years and remains active in Woburn wrestling events.

Tim was a four-year varsity wrestler for the Woburn High School Wrestling team. He was co-captain his senior year and helped lead the Tanners to their first-ever Middlesex League Championship, Middlesex League Tournament Championship, Chelmsford Invitational Tournament Championship, and Division I Sectional Championship. During his high school career, Tim was a Middlesex League All-Star and won or placed in numerous tournaments.
