Coach Sam graduated from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. Sam has coached in Florida from 1974 to 2009 in Palm Beach County, 35 years!

His awards include Palm Beach Coach of the Year 3 times, Sun Sentinel Coach of the Year 2 times, 2005 Palm Beach County Hall of Fame, Palm Beach Athletic Conference Coach of the Year 8 times, Sun Coast Conference Coach of the Year 2 times, NWCA 25 year Recognition 2006, Florida Athletic Coaches Association 300 Win Award.

Sam is an Executive Member of this Board, and was on FHSAA State Tournament Host Committee 1989-92, and on the FHSAA Advisory Rules Committee four years. He was founder and tournament director for the Palm Beach County Wrestling Invitational.
