Bill Regnier

Bill Regnier began his coaching career at Temperance Bedford High School in 1966. His tenure includes 30 years as head wrestling coach, 31 years on the football coaching staff and 13 years as the school's Athletic Director. Grinding out a 500-57-3 dual meet record in those 30 years, his Mules have always accepted the challenge of being the best in the state. Bill's teams put together a string of 25 consecutive Great Lakes league Championships, won 20 District Championships, 19 regional Championships, 4 State Runner-up finishes and 9 MHSAA State Championships. He has coached 25 individual state champions, 98 state place winners, 12 High School All Americans and 9 College All Americans. Bill has been named the Monroe County Coach of the Year six times, Michigan All Classes Coach of the Year twice and was selected as the 1992 National H.S. Wrestling Coach of the Year by the Federation of Interscholastic Coaches Association. Bill is a member of the National High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame, The Michigan High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the Bowling Green State University Athletic Hall of Fame and the Bedford High School Hall of Fame, both as an individual and with numerous state championship teams. Bill and his wife Carol have been married for 45 years. They have a son Michael, a daughter Lori and four grandchildren.
