Glenn Scheele

Scheele, a graduate of Denver North High School, received his BA from the University of Denver, and two MA's from the University of Northern Colorado and UCLA. He began coaching at Westminster High School in 1949, and then moved over to Denver West High School where he remained for 31 years. He also served as a volunteer coach at Manual High School for two seasons. During his tenure at West, he also served as a football, cross country and track coach. He coached three undefeated dual match seasons, had several place winners high school as well as Freestyle, Greco and an All-Service champion. He was also very active outside the coaching ranks. He was a charter member of the Colorado Wrestling Officials Association and officiated for 30 years. Among his many duties as a coach and official, he served as the Executive Secretary of the Colorado Coaches Association, was the treasurer of the National High School Coaches Federation and worked in seven national Freestyle and Greco tournaments. He was a team leader of three foreign exchange programs to Germany, Japan and Mexico.
