Chuck Walters

Chuck Walters is also being inducted posthumously into the Hall of Fame. He passed away January 8 ,2009 and also knew of his pending induction. He was a graduate of La Junta High School, Otero Junior College and Colorado State University. He also attended Western State College, Adams State College and Metro State College. He made the 'Flip Disks' for each state champion as a souvenir in the tournament for their accomplishment. He was a member of several state and national wrestling committees. He started Arvada Kids Wrestling, was the director of Colorado Cadets (five years) and was a coach and official for the Cadets and Juniors in USA Wrestling for several years. He was an E-l Mat Official and P-3 Parings Official for USA Wrestling. He was proud that many of his students have gone on to help with clinics at state and national levels and coach at schools in Colorado and New Mexico. He also worked as a scorekeeper at the Colorado state tournament. He was named the Teacher of the Year in Jefferson County in Industrial Arts, Coach of the Year in football in the Jefferson County and South Central Leagues.
