Claude W. Hendrix, Jr.
Bill began wrestling in 1962 for the Middle River Wrestling program. In 1964 he joined the varsity squad at Overlea High School in Baltimore County. In 1970 Bill began coaching with the Middle River Youth program. He became Chairman and Head Coach in the fall of 1976 and currently holds both positions.
The Middle River Wrestling Program, through Bill's efforts will be celebrating its 50 anniversary this year. Bill has held many executive positions in his many years as an MJWL member. He currently serves as MJWL treasurer.
Bill has hosted numerous events in Middle River throughout his coaching career. Besides his positions of leadership in the wrestling community, he has volunteered his time to support various other programs and events of the Middle River Recreation and Parks Council that benefits other youth in the community.
The accomplishments of the wrestlers coming out of the Middle River Wrestling Program are impressive. Uniquely, the current coaching staff at Middle River consists of former Middle River wrestlers from each of the last four decades. Bill is highly regarded in the community as a most dedicated, generous and caring individual.
