Wilbert Johnson
Coach Wilber Wrestled at Miami Dade Community College and Florida International University. He has coached at Richmond Junior High, South Miami, Homestead, Palmetto, Ransom Everglades and Killian High School's. At Homestead he coached James Burgess who won a State Title, was Miami Herald Wrestler of the Year and played in the NFL. Another of Wilber's wrestlers was Derrick Thomas an Al-American at Alabama and All-Pro linebacker with the Kansas City Chiefs. He has over 200 dual meet wins as a coach. Wilber was a Team Florida National Coach in 1999. He was an assistant Coach of the Tour De Monde trip to Mexico City in 1999. He is presently President of a non-profit organization, Inner City Wrestling that brings in national level clinician's to inspire youth to succeed in wrestling and life. If all that wasn't enough Wilbert is an excellent official who has officiated three FHSAA State Championships and serves his Officials Association as booking agent.
