Conan Leary

Conan Leary, a 1997 graduate of Tabor Academy (Marion, MA), was first coached by Kevin Farrell and Dave Vining at Carver High School. Leary placed 4th at the MA state tournament in 8th grade. As a freshman, Leary lost only 1 regular season match, was a sectional champion, and a state finalist. In his three years on the wrestling mat at Tabor, coached by Larry Bidstrup and Joe Resmini, Leary won two Class A and two N.E. titles and was named the outstanding wrestler at all four tournaments. Additionally, Leary was a three-time prep school All-American placing 6th as a sophomore, 2nd as a junior, and culminating his senior undefeated season as a National Champion. While attending Williams College, Leary was voted rookie of the year, was a three time All New England Wrestler, and a New England Conference Champion. Leary was also selected to the Division II/III national team and traveled to and competed against the Bulgarian, French, Italian, and Russian national teams. Leary also played four years of football at Williams College while majoring in History and Economics. Conan returned to his alma mater in 2006 as a teacher of history and economics. While attending Tabor, Leary played football, wrestling, and lacrosse and was the student body president. Since taking over the Tabor wrestling program in 2009, Leary has coached the Seawolves to a 101-14 dual meet record, three top-five team finishes in the Prep New England Tournament, and two top-twenty finishes at the Prep National Tournament. In 2010, Leary was awarded the Houlihan Faculty Prize at Tabor Academy and in 2014, Leary was named the New England Independent School Wrestling Association Coach of the Year.
